Day #30: Help Customers Manage Their Prescriptions

It’s day 30! The last day of the campaign. Over a month ago we set out a promise to provide 30 new strategies to use our new content marketing tool, Aisle7 Content Explorer. Aisle7 ONLINE customers get it for free, so we wanted to get you started with a bunch of ideas on how to use it. If you’ve been with us through the duration, you’ve read how it can be used to build campaigns for your site, e-mail, blog, printed materials and facebook pages. If you haven’t, never fear, we have all of our posts neatly organized in chronological order for your viewing pleasure. In a few days, we’ll do a wrap up with your favorites.

For today’s post, I’d like to talk about a topic that hits just about every home in America. Prescription and non-prescription drug consumption. By all accounts, this trend isn’t going to turn around anytime soon. Drug sales continue to rise and thus consumers need information tools to help them take their medications safely. For many years, we have offered the industry standard in drug monographs, First Data Bank. With a few clicks, your customers can look up everything they need to know on everything from Albuterol to Zyrtec. What you may not know is that you can go a step further. Last week, I talked about putting the 80/20 rule to work on your website by using Index Widgets. To contine the theme, I’d like to talk about the new Drug Interactions Widget.

It features the top 10 most popular drugs, in a handy display for easy deployment on your website pages. Given the topics popularity, I’d recommend placing it on a high traffic page like your home page, pharamcy or healthy living page. The drugs featured in this tool capture a majority of drug sales. In addition to explaining what to avoid, it is one of the only tools that highlights what to take, to make a prescription more effective. This is a powerful value add to your customers and can also be helpful to your bottom line.

Here’s how to put it on your site with Aisle7 Content Explorer:

1. Open the Widget Tab

2. Select Finder Widget Collection and fnd Drug/Nutrient Interactions Widget

3. Grab the REST based URL or AJAX script and place it on your page.

It’s that easy. Want to put this strategy to work on your site with Aisle7 Content Explorer? Check out the demo or Email us to get access.

Day #29: Put the 80/20 Rule to Work on Your Healthy Living Pages

Aisle7 offers thousands health and wellness articles. From hemolytic anemia to indegestion, we provide self-care recommendations to help people make smart decisions. Providing long-tail results is a foundational strength of the program. However, when we review our traffic analysis reports, the 80/20 rule is alive and well.  To accomodate this need, we created Index Widgets. They provide quick access to the most popular items in our database. Convenience is a pillar of good web design. Now you can make it refreshingly easy for your customers to find the self-care wellness topics that are of high interest. And Aisle7 Content Explorer makes it easy for you to add these powerful widgets to your site.

Here’s what you do:

1. Open Aisle7 Content Explorer and select the Widget Gallery Tab

2. Select the Index Widget Gallery Collection. You’ll then be presented with a number of Index Widgets available for you to place, like Top Health Conditions.

3. Select “Grab” and copy and paste the AJAX script or grab the REST based URL path to insert into your website page.

That’s it. Index widgets are great additions to health and wellness section pages or product category pages to help educate customers on popular products, conditions and health goals.

It’s that easy. Want to put the 80/20 rule to work on your site with Aisle7 Content Explorer? Check out the demo or Email us to get access.

Day #28: Health and Wellness Campaigns for Hispanic Shoppers

According to the US Census Bureau, nearly 50 million Hispanic people live in the US. That number has been on a steady climb over the last 20 years with projections to top 60 million by the end of this decade. To help reach this population, Aisle7 offers expertly written articles on the most common self-care health conditions and nutritional supplements. For websites that serve a multi-lingual audience, we offer the ability to easily toggle between English and Spanish versions of an article. You can see an implementation in action by going to (Look for the toggle link in the top right corner)

Health and wellness marketers also have the ability to use the Aisle7 Spanish content for website pages, e-mail and Facebook campaigns for their Spanish speaking customers. All you need to do is open up Aisle7 Content Explorer. We just added our Spanish content to this powerful tool to allow customers to view all the Spanish health and wellness content we create and manage.

Once you’ve opened Aisle7 Content Explorer, you can easily search the database, preview articles and distribute with a URL or AJAX script. With URLs and scripts in hand you have everything you need to publish this content to your digital marketing channels. It’s that easy. Want to build your own Spanish based wellness campaigns with Aisle7 Content Explorer?  Email us to get access.

Day #27: The Importance of a Great Supporting Cast

If you look at the best of the best, you typically find a phenomenal supporting cast. Michael Jorden had Scotty Pippen and Dennis Rodman. Jerry Seinfield had Elanie, Kramer and George Castanza. A lot of attention typically gets focused on the lead for good reason. Their virtuoso like skills are a sight to behold. However, without the supporting cast to add dimension to their abilities, they wouldn’t have become the breakout success they are.

The content on your website is no different. Every page has at least one lead item or primary call to action. It also needs supporting satellite content to help reinforce the message and give “the lead” a platform on which it can display its brilliance. For the coming Winter season the lead may be specials on flu shot immunizations or immunity products. For diabetes awareness month it may be a diabetes-friendly holiday recipe collection. Whatever the topic, you need to have supporting content to help reinforce the lead theme. Fortunately, Aisle7 has over 250 supporting feature articles on a range of self-care topics to help fill in any content gaps you need and make your pages sing.

With Aisle7 Content Explorer you can browse through the Call-Out gallery and immediately find articles to strengthen your pages. Here’s how you find it:

1. Once you’ve opened Content Explorer, select Call-Out gallery

2. Enter your search keyword term

3. Narrow your search by choosing the type of article you’re interested in. (News, Feature, etc..)

4. Preview and select the call-out(s) you need

5. Grab the URL to post a link on a page or grab the AJAX or REST based URL to pull in the graphic call-out text.

It’s that easy. Want to build your own supporting cast with Aisle7 Content Explorer? Check out the demo or Email us to get access.

Day #26: Put the Power of Search to Work

Internet search has been one of the biggest innovations our society has seen in the last decade. At the drop of a hat you can find an answer to just about any question you can think of. Some say the power of search and therefore the power to know is wiping myth out of the public consciousness. That’s a pretty lofty idea. Framed in more tangible terms, I believe search has created what has been termed the information-hungry-shopper — the ability to know the best price, attributes and benefits for a given product. Now that the Internet is the #1 source of health information, this trend is especially powerful for health and wellness marketers.

Now you can put this powerful trend to work on your site by adding Aisle7 search. In the blink of an eye, a customer on your site can perform a search on any health topic and get relevant health and wellness articles that provide valuable information on your products.

For example, they could look up “chromium health benefits” or “gluten free recipes” and have the information at their fingertips to help make healthy product decisions.

It’s a great addition to complementary health and wellness pages as well as product pages. It’s provided as a small self-contained widget that can be easily placed in a navigation sidebar.

Here’s how you access it in Aisle7 Content Explorer:

1. Open the Widget Gallery Tab

2. Grab the widget by pulling the REST based URL or AJAX script to place into your website page

3. Search is now enabled, providing your customers access to all of the Aisle7 health and wellness articles available in your license.

It’s that easy. Want to get started? Check out the demo or Email us to get access. To read more about Aisle7 search, take a look at our best practice guide.

How about confident, well-informed customers on the cusp of making a purchase? Easier than ever with Aisle7 Content Explorer.

Enhance your online store by inserting pertinent health and wellness articles onto your product and category pages. By simply adding an additional “tab” to your product page template (as shown below), you can instantly create a new piece of page real estate to house Aisle7 content.

Ditto for your product category pages! Inform the customer with an Aisle7 article (“What are Antioxidants?”), bolster the case with customers reviews or news, and then send them merrily along to your Top Sellers for an easy conversion.

How can I add informative Aisle7 content to my store’s product pages?

  1. Find matching articles in Content Explorer.
  2. Grab the provided AJAX snippet of code to will display the item.
  3. Share by pasting that code into a new tab on the proper product page!

Day #24: Enable Online Shoppers with the Homeopathic Medicine Finder

Decisions are hard. Health decisions are even harder. The Aisle7 Homeopathic Medicine Finder is here to help!

Available as a widget, this interactive decision support tool can be placed nearly anywhere on a website. Once launched (as an attractive overlay), users are guided step-by-step to an appropriate homeopathic remedy, complete with a recommended product, dosage details, and additional health warnings and information. Recent research shows that consumers interest in homeopathic remedies is growing.

How can I enable shoppers with a decision support tool?

  1. Find the Homeopathic Medicine Finder in Content Explorer under the Widget Gallery tab, in the General Widget Collection.
  2. Grab the provided short snippet of code, pre-written for your convenience!
  3. Share by pasting that code somewhere on your site, or passing along the code to your Web team.

Day#23: Promote the Wellness Campaigns On Your Site

A few days ago, we talked about how to use Aisle7 Content Explorer to find a Table of Content Page and give your website a “shot in the arm” on a specific health and wellness topic. Table of Content Pages are really powerful because they provide many valuable resources on a specific subject. It could be anything for a “Heart Health Center” to “Best Recipes for the Big Game”.

Today, I want to talk about how you can promote a Table of Contents (TOC) Page, once you’ve featured it on your site through Facebook, Twitter and E-mail marketing. For example, let’s say you posted ”Best Recipes for the Big Game” in a new section on your site — now that football season is in full swing.  You don’t have to stop there. Aisle7 Content Explorer also provides you with a targeted URL to the TOC page that you can use in your outbound marketing campaigns. All you need to do is find the asset in Aisle7 Content Explorer through a quick search. Grab the targeted URL supplied for the asset and then distribut to your marketing channel.

Once you have the URL you can post it into the marketing channel of your choice. It’s a great way to get the word out for a new wellness campaign you’re featuring on your site.

That’s it. Want to get started? Check out the demo or Email us to get access.

I hope you have as much fun watching the games as I will. Go Eagles!

Day #22: Make it Easy to Decide Which Supplements to Try

Deciding which supplements to take can be a confusing affair for many consumers. New research is coming out every week. New articles with superlative headlines are featured in consumer publications and new claims are made by manufacturers. It’s one of the main reasons why we developed Vitamin Advisor, now in use by multiple supermarket chains, vitamin retailers and health food stores. If you use Aisle7 ONLINE Plus,  it can be accessed in Content Explorer. It’s a great tool to add to your home page or product category page.  Consumers love the tool. Over 70% complete the survey. And of those that complete, 25+% print the results to take into the store or 15+% add a product to cart.

If you don’t have Plus and would like to add Vitamin Advisor to your license, let us know. We can also create Custom Advisors that help inform consumers of the options for specific health conditions, goals or product sets.

Here’s how to access it in Aisle7 Content Explorer:

1) Simply, open up the Widget Gallery tab

2) Open up the General Widget Collection. You’ll find the widget half way down the page.

 3) Preview the asset and grab the AJAX code or REST based URL to place on your page.

Like most Aisle7 widgets you can apply custom styling. It’s that easy. Want to get started? Check out the demo or Email us to get access.

Day #21: Tune Your Searches in Content Explorer

Content Explorer search works just like other Web searches—by providing you with the most relevant results to the phrase you are searching for. Type in a word or phrase and click Go to get started. If you don’t have a search in mind, browse our content categories, or look through the Hot Topics panel for the latest and most topical information.

Narrow your results by selecting a category—for example, displaying only the Feature Articles that match your search term. Sort your results alphabetically using the available drop down. The default sort places the most relevant articles at the top. Find a phrase by placing it in quotes (“high cholesterol”). If you didn’t find the ideal content, try removing the quotes for a broader search!

How can I use Content Explorer’s search functionality?

  1. Find content by typing a word or phrase in the search box and clicking Go!
  2. Grab the materials, as a link or snippet of code.
  3. Share this relevant content with your target market.

It’s that easy. Want to get started? Email us now to access Content Explorer. Or call 877-659-7630.
